Emby Premiere Ad Displayed with Lifetime Premiere Account Key Active

I setup my Emby server with a Lifetime Premiere account. Glad to support you!

On the LAN everything shows normally, no Ad for Premiere anymore and Premiere features seem to work.

When I access the server from my FQDN over the WAN, I see the ad to "Get Emby Premiere". If I login as an administrator they Premiere key shows in the panel, but Emby isn't confirming that Premiere is active.

What is going on here?

Hi.  Whatever browser or app you are using remotely is probably being blocked from accessing our servers for validation.

Hi ebr, what needs to be opened up? What servers need to be accessible to verify validation?

The app/client will need access to mb3admin.com.

I can verify that the remote location I am accessing from has a corporate firewall blocking access to this site. My server is verifying my license, how can I adjust it so that users don't also need to authenticate (redundant)?

The server controls which users access it, no reason the endpoint users need authentication. Seems like a bad setup...

Hi.  The apps need to validate periodically as well.

Hi.  The apps need to validate periodically as well.

Why? The apps don't purchase a Premiere subscription. The subscription is for the server... The server should authenticate connected apps through login information. Doesn't make sense as to why the app would need to authenticate to me when all the unlockable features are server side.

Is there any way that the apps could tunnel their connection through the server in the future so that this is not an issue apps/devices need to worry about?

Hi.  There are a number of discussions out here on this topic.  The system we have in place is the best for the protection for our IP as well as for other reasons.  A central validation point is just too easy to circumvent.

Thanks for the support.

I appreciate the need to protect your IP, but when it disrupts your users they start to look for other solutions.

Please take this feedback under advisement and see if there may be a solution to fix this in the future.

Thank you.

Same issue here, for a long time. This is extremely frustrating. I paid for premium to support development, but I still have to edit CSS to remove the premium button...

I don't allow any connections from the browser, other than to the emby server.

I don't know of any other app that requires the client to verify that the provider has a valid license. Seems pretty wonky.
