MovieDb Plugin Update - Now I Can't Add Movies Via Scan Library File

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Went to add some new movies to my library today and no matter what I do, the new movies will not show up in my movie library (.

Only thing that changed between now and a couple days ago is that on Feb 21st, the MovieDb plugin was auto-updated to 1.5.2.

Has anyone else run into this?

EDIT: I just deleted my library and created a new one. Upon library scan there are no movies in the new library.

Something odd going on...

Hi there, please attach the emby server log:

Thanks.

I just removed my existing library.db file (renamed it _OLD) and did a clean new library and scan.

It built a ~30Mb new library.db file over the course of about 45 minutes. When I go to my new "movies" library it is empty.

Which log file(s) should I include?

Please include the log file from the scan. Thanks.

All my media files are on G:

When the library scan originally "failed" earlier today, I tried scanning on my backup drive, H:, as a test.

Neither worked.

The weird thing is, all my music, tv shows, and music videos are there. All on G: just in different folders.

My movies library and the subsequent collections are both empty.

EDIT #1: Just as a test, I just created a new "home movies and photos" library and pointed it to a folder on G: with just some random MP4s I had laying around. Created the new library and successfully scanned and created thumbnails for all the test videos in that folder.

It seems to be only getting stuck on the existing G: movies folder, for some reason...

EDIT #2: As another test, I just renamed the main folder that holds all the sub movie folders on G:. I added it as a new library (about 230 movies) and the scanning took about 10 seconds and resulted in an empty library.

Weird...

Sorry to keep adding onto this.

EDIT #3: I again removed the library.db file. Restarted Emby. This time when I went to the library page, I clicked Scan Library Files. With no libraries created yet, it has scanned for 45 minutes and somehow recreated the libraries I had there before. Is this normal behavior? I would have assumed if I removed the library.db file that I would need to re-create the libraries? How is it knowing where to scan if I have not created libraries yet?

Again, weird...

Removing the library.db does not remove the already created libraries as the reside in /programdata/root/default/each library (path will be platform prevalent.  But since you have removed the db everything has to rebuild to be seen in Emby UI.

Understood. Thank you for the explanation.

I still don't get why all of a sudden everything seems to be working except scanning my movies folder. All other folder that other libraries point to (music, tv shows, etc) are all still working and scanning correctly.

When you used "H:" it appeared to import all items from that drive but using "G:" it does not.

example

	Line 7526: 2022-02-22 13:23:06.897 Info MediaProbeManager: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Execute: C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffprobe.exe -i file:"H:\Mark and Beth Movies\Murder On The Orient Express - 2017\Murder On The Orient Express.mp4" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_chapters -show_format -show_data
Line 7543: 2022-02-22 13:23:07.415 Debug App: Running MovieNfoProvider for H:\Mark and Beth Movies\Murder On The Orient Express - 2017\Murder On The Orient Express.mp4

and when you changed to "G:" all item were removed.

This suggest something in "G:\Mark and Beth Movies" path is blocking the import.

Now if the path is working now in a new library.db, that would suggest something in the db created issues with that path.

I created a new folder "G:\Movie Test" and moved 13 of movies over to it.

Pointed the library to that new folder, scanned it, and sure enough those 13 movies showed up in Emby.

Move the rest of my movies over to the new folder, scanned it, no new movies. Only the original 13 from above.

I am so confused.

That would suggest something in that folder is blocking import.

Can you show content of the folder?  Any items that start with a period?

First, I just want to say a big thank you for everyone's assistance in helping trouble shoot this.

I have found the problem.

By pure chance I clicked on a fanart file and it gave me a weird system error/message.

Ran CHKDSK and it indeed found an issue and corrected it.

Went back, fanart file no longer gave me a system error/message.

Scanned my library and every single movie came through as expected.

I am not sure how much more hair I would have pulled out had I not accidentally clicked on that one fanart file and thus cocked my eyebrow.

Thanks again for everyone trying to help and offering their assistance!!!
