HHTEX 2 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I searched this issue and found several instances going back to 2014 but nothing recent. However when I'm using emby it is always with Roku on my local lan. I'm getting buffering issues and when I check my server there are multiple instances of FFmpeg running. I'm running emby version 4.6.7. If I close all ffmpeg instances and start the video up again the issue goes away. This is not file or video dependent, it is actually fairly random.
ebr 16194 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Hi. Make sure you do not exit playback in the app by using the remote "Home" button. That has the potential to strand streams because it just kills the app with no warning. Also, this situation should be improved with the next server release. Thanks.
Luke 42085 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 If that's not what's happening, can we please look at an example? Thanks.
HHTEX 2 Posted February 21, 2022 Author Posted February 21, 2022 It could very well be, my kids have a habit of hitting home when they're done. What kind of info do you need to dig into this issue?
ebr 16194 Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 A server and any ffmpeg logs from when this happens. Thanks.

ebr 16194 Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Okay, good. The upcoming server 4.7 should hopefully eliminate the issue when the kids do that. Thanks.
HHTEX 2 Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) Reviving this topic. the multiple versions of ffmpeg.exe continue to occur. I've tried to recreate what is causing this but can't nail it down. The downside is after 3 or 4 instances of this running the service cpu maxes out at 100% and I have to manually kill the processes. ffmpeg-transcode-52baf00b-5118-4f24-9e76-b3e07d3859ee_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-331d0ea0-78b7-4ab5-a41d-be363901843b_1.txt embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-08d089de-18f9-4273-aadb-79120b752f74_1.txt Edited September 30, 2022 by HHTEX
