Real time monitoring on Linux supported file systems

I'm currently moving away from my Windows file server and I will be moving over to Alma Linux which is a Redhat Enterprise clone. I plan on running XFS for my system and serving files over NFS. Currently, real time monitoring does not work Emby is installed on Ubuntu which connects back to my Windows Server 2019 file server via cifs. So I would like to know what file systems are supported for real time monitoring. I've read a few post on this but I've never seen a document that states what is actually supported.

As a general rule you can't expect real time monitoring to work over network (shared) file system protocols, even when the underlying file system is native Linux/UNIX or POSIX compliant. If you want RTM to work then use local storage.

The exception being if you are using Radarr/Sonarr, the built in API integration with Emby will notify Emby when new media is available.
