asn1bur 0 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Vanila Windows 7 SP1 Install LAV Filters (0.60.1) installed following this guide: http://www.thehtpc.net/htpc-tips-and-tweaks/media-center-lav-filters-and-external-subtitles/ MB Classic 3.0.207.0 MB Server 3.0.5366.22005 Recently installed the local trailers pluggin, looks like depending on the source the pluggin downloads either MP4 or MOV files. For some reason I am unable to play either of them in WMC (please see attached screenshots). I am able to play the MP4 files in WMP but not the MOV files, they have audio but no video. I installed MBT as a test and the trailers play fine with that. I realize this probably isn't a MBC issue but any help I could get would be really appreciated, thanks.
asn1bur 0 Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Update: I did a system restore to vanilla install of windows 7, I installed the K-Lite codec pack and can now play both files with WMP. I then added a test folder with some trailers in it (including the one I tested above) to the WMC video library and can now play all MOV and MP4 files in WMC. I am still not however able to view them using MBC (same error as posted above). Any ideas?
asn1bur 0 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Anyone have any thoughts on this?
ebr 16169 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 If it is x64 windows then you will need x64 codecs. Other than that, I have no ideas without seeing a log.
asn1bur 0 Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Thanks for the reply. It's x86, can you advise what logs would be useful and I will post. Thanks.

Cheesegeezer 3104 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Make sure your codecs are actually working. Scroll down to where it asks you to download GraphStudioNext in this tutorial and follow the steps. This will tell you if you are actually decoding it or if you have a block when producing the graph. Post up screenshots of your graph please. Cheers
Solution ebr 16169 Posted September 24, 2014 Solution Posted September 24, 2014 Very good report. Thanks. Looks like you defined your library using local drive letters on the server machine. The MBC machine cannot see those drives. Use UNC paths on the server instead. 1
asn1bur 0 Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 "Use UNC paths on the server instead" - Spot on, that's exactly what it was, I changed to UNC paths and I can now successfully play the trailers. Thank you very much for your support, much appreciated!
