Skyfay 19 Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 hey When I have to restore emby, a default image always comes up which is retrieved from TMDB. Now I wanted to ask whether it is possible to store the link in the NFO files to which the current images are and then always retrieve them? I saw there is a function where you can save the images directly to the media. Will the images be retrieved from there or can you just save them for yourself? And if Emby takes these pictures from the media, are they always retrieved from the media storage location or do they also end up in Emby's config files? 1
Luke 42078 Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Hi, it's possible for the future, but why not just enable saving images to media folders? If you keep images next to your media, then they'll be retained if you need to rebuild.

It will generally be a combination of the two. There are open feature requests for emby server to keep complete copies of images in internal folders to reduce hdd access. Thanks. 1

Okay, then I hope that this can eventually be implemented in the near future. Would be cool!
mixXxim 2 Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Although everything is set exactly as instructed here, emby just deleted all the nfo files from the folder containing the xxx.mkv files. And now I just saw that some pictures are missing????

mixXxim 2 Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Hi, Thank you for your answer and sorry I had forgotten that the nfo files are hidden system files and somehow my view in explorer was switched to hidden system files and I therefore assumed that all files were gone. Sorry again.... 1

Sorry again.... This is per library configurable but as the note says only items from the time enabled. Save metadata and images as hidden files Changing this will apply to new metadata saved going forward. Existing metadata files will be updated the next time they are saved by Emby Server.
