hootie318 3 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 I have tried repeatedly to install Emby Server on a RPi4 using numerous methods. No matter the install version I receive this message: (Reading database ... 45920 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to unpack emby-server-deb_4.7.0.23_armhf.deb ... Unpacking emby-server:armhf (4.7.0.23) over (4.6.7.0) ... dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of emby-server:armhf: emby-server:armhf depends on libc6 (>= 2.17). dpkg: error processing package emby-server:armhf (--install): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1+deb11u2) ... Errors were encountered while processing: emby-server:armhf Any advice would be amazing. Thank you
hootie318 3 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) That would have helped, sorry. Raspberry Pi OS Lite x64. I also have Open Media Vault installed Edited February 11, 2022 by hootie318
Ellimist 5 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Looks like you have the 64-bit OS, so you should be using the arm64/aarch64 version instead of the armhf version. You can verify your architecture with a uname -m.
hootie318 3 Posted February 12, 2022 Author Posted February 12, 2022 i got frustrated and returned to 32 bit. uname = armv71 Tried the emby-server-deb_4.6.7.0_armhf.deb and emby-server-deb_4.7.0.23_armhf.deb Same errors
hootie318 3 Posted February 12, 2022 Author Posted February 12, 2022 Went back to x64 and was able to install emby. THanks
CassTG 113 Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Just for info, incase you haved never heard of it, for me the best OS on PI's is DietPi os based on debian avaliable in 64bit. They have a very responsive dev team and they have a built in wizard which you can pick what software you would like to install (i.e emby, nextcloud, pihole etc) and it handles it all for you. It's my Pi software goto. It's all done via a cli wizard and also included smb and nfs mounting setups built in. Great thing is you can invoke the wizard at any point for easy software install overclocking etc 1
