Meijinhada 4 Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 I feel like I'm missing an obvious answer to this, but how can I have Collections automatically use the artwork I have already set in folders for the collection itself? Trying this out from MrMC, I have my files in folders to delineate movie sets, with movieset-poster and movieset-fanart files. Obviously Emby does its own thing, and I can see where I can make my own manual collections where I presumably will need to manually set artwork, but for ones that are contained in the same folder, would a properly renamed file be picked up for the Collection thumbnail? Or do I have to do something else to get them to set automatically? Also, do I need to use .nfo tags to get movies into a specified order that isn't date or release? Because I have some movies (like the MCU, or Star Wars) that I want to have ordered by timeline, and I did have to use .nfo files for that....but if I do, what tag do I use?

Emby will not use collection artwork from your personal folders; however, if you manually place artwork in Emby's collection folder and appropriate subfolder (under Windows, it is located at install-dir\programdata\metadata\collections), it'll be picked-up upon scan. 6 hours ago, Meijinhada said: Also, do I need to use .nfo tags to get movies into a specified order that isn't date or release? Nope, sort order (or collection items) are not written in collection.nfo, only <set> tag(s) are read from item NFO to denote if an item does belong to a collection or not. You can use Sort name order (Edit Metadata of a Collection). As you can lend your support here, as well:

So I'm kind of stuck on that one. EDIT: Actually, nevermind, apparently I had to...give my username access even though I had it already. Whatever. Folder is visible to me now, so I'll see how that works out. Thanks! Edited February 9, 2022 by Meijinhada 1
Meijinhada 4 Posted February 16, 2022 Author Posted February 16, 2022 Okay, I didn't want to make a new topic for this, since it kind of relates, but.... Does the Collection scraper also read .nfo <set></set> tags if I already had them done manually for MrMC? If it does, it's not entirely consistent, which is a little confusing, and I'm wondering if I just need to tweak my old .nfo to fix it. Some of my custom sets do seem to have carried over (for example, my MCU stuff), while also making auto collections of the movies (like Ant-Man and the like; I can easily delete those), but then others (like my Disney movies) did not carry over at all. And Rifftrax is hit or miss. All of them have the same setup in the .nfo tags.
