Guest Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hello, Ubuntu Server 18.04, Emby Server 4.6.7.0 Nvidia Shield SW 9.0.1 and official Emby client 2.0.48g (Registered..) I use video version(s) for both situations - home and remote watching, therefor I have two versions for each video - original and re-encoded to suite my upload speeds (and to avoid unnecessary transcoding). Emby pickups the right version according to max streaming bitrate (set on client). At home I got 1000Mbit, remote location(s) use 10Mbit. It correspomds to home and remote streaming "versions" respectively and Emby offers Home version when I'm at home, Remote version when .. not at home. However if playback is interrupted at home and I would like to continue watching, and "continue watching" section on the home screen is utilized, Emby always wants to use "remote version" no matter what. I don't get it. Is my approach wrong or what else could I do to "make it happen?" Thank you for any advice or suggestion D

I always resume playback from Emby's home screen, therefore I "press" play button from the detail screen, I suppose
ebr 16184 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Okay, if you recreate this situation and go into the detail screen (hit OK) from the continue watching, is the correct version selected by default?
Guest Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) Well, from "continue watching" it always offers the remote version. On the other hand, If I go to movies library and find the movie in question there, it offers the home version, the right one (regular playpack from the beginning and continue playback). Emby's home screen layout has "Contiune watching " section there, I choose the movie I'd like to continue watching - I highlight the item and pres OK on the remote, then it will enter the detail screen right? Actors, plot are shown there.. And few buttons, one of the them is "Resume". Right? On this screen the wrong version is always set by default. Only if I attempt to continue watching (all movies with versions), there's a wrong version choosen by default... edit: I can make a video (it will be a youtube link) if you agree, maybe that will clear it up Edited February 7, 2022 by didaktiikcon to add more info

If you navigate to the exact same item via the normal library, you are saying a different default version is selected?

ebr 16184 Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Okay, not sure how that could be but we'll take a look. Thanks.
Guest Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Thank you very much for looking into this. I do appreciate that
