jriker1 21 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I am recording the winter olympics and use MCEBuddy to rename and sort shows so Emby will show them. Having an issue with this content. I'm injecting metadata into it so see the descriptions and the like in the GUI but it will only show one show at a time. Names show up like this on file: But in Emby only the top show will show. When I delete that show then the next one will show but not play and you have to exit Emby and go back in and then it plays but thinks it's already watched. Always shows up as season 20 Episode 22 which obviously this isn't. Anything be done about how these are processed?
ebr 16187 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi. I bet your naming is matching our multi-version feature. Does the second one show as a second version in the first?
jriker1 21 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 Good call, looks like it. Not sure the cutoff of the wording in the pulldown but that looks to be the "problem".

jriker1 21 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 There isn't really any way around the multi-version way it's dealing with this then is there?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Should have a Split Apart button just above media info at the bottom But do to naming scheme you have to have Season/Episode number for TV, so 2022 is parsed S20E22, otherwise you could give it a proper SxxEyy. Looks like TVDB has them by event not mixed.
jriker1 21 Posted February 12, 2022 Author Posted February 12, 2022 Thanks. I'm not seeing that option is that maybe not available on Android TV? Though I can't find that option on the web interface either.

Do we know when I hit that button what will happen? Do we think all the episodes will be in a big list on the main folder or be in the main WMC folder which is the one created for content in that location? Or will they all sit within a Winter Olympics folder in the WMC folder? Also what will happen as new shows record? Curious as maybe it will cause more pain but not sure.

Should show as separate episodes. example items merged after selecting split apart But Watched status will be a issues as they all have the same id, so you will have to manually adjust season/episode numbers. Don't do recordings but could assume additional records would get merged to any of these split apart items as the internal server merging rule applies do to same season/episode numbers. So in the end that naming scheme will always be parsed and merged do the interpretation of "2022" as S20E22. Edited February 14, 2022 by Happy2Play 1
