Fetching metadata and cover art fails for all albums

Setup: Emby server 4.7.0.22-beta on Windows 10. The Album Metadata Downloader is AudioDB. The default cover art provider is AudioDB followed by FanArt. MusicBrainz plugin is not used.

The cover arts used to be downloaded just fine on my Emby server with the same plugin setup, but now for some reason none will be loaded. I tried rescaning the library files as well as refreshing all metadata with the "replace existing images" option checked, but it didn't fix the issue. I tried creating a new music library but then again no luck.

The strange thing is that artist are identified just fine, they get and AudioDB ID and their images are downloaded without problem. However when I look at an album's metadata, I can see that there is no AudioDB ID. If I refresh the metadata for an album, I see these lines in the logs, which seems to indicate that the album is not identified properly:

I confirmed with a few albums that they are indeed on AudioDb and that they have cover art (here for this example https://www.theaudiodb.com/album/2114047) but it is always the same. Are there logs with more information for this somewhere? Any idea of what may be wrong?

Hi, both Fanart and AudioDb are based on musicbrainz id's, so if you've disabled the musicbrainz plugin, then you'll need to be manually filling in those external ids on your artists and albums in order for those providers to be able to find anything.

I would suggest enabling musicbrainz again and then doing some manual refreshes of metadata to start filling in musicbrainz ids's.

@Luke Thanks for your answer. So I reinstalled the musicbrainz plugin, but doing a full metadata refresh on the library still doesn't add album covers. I can see that the external IDs for musicbrainz and audioDB are added for the artists, however none of the external IDs are added to any album.

Doing a metadata refresh on a single album now does populate the external IDs and download the cover though... strange... why would it work one album at the time but not when refreshing the entire library?

I've attached the server log for my latest full music library metadata refresh, if it can help...
