Some songs frequently skip parts of the song

I'm experiencing really strange behavior in the Android mobile app. Certain songs constantly skip parts of the song. It's only certain songs and it's ONLY on MY phone. The same exact songs play fine everywhere else, even on my wife's phone which is the exact same model. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changed. Is there a cache on the phone somewhere that is stuck with a corrupt version of the songs? I can't figure out how to clear the issue.

@FrostByte do you see this with your wma's?

Just FYI, I've never experienced this in the 2 years I've been using Emby. It just started happening and I have no idea why. It's really strange. Especially since it only happens on my device and not my wife's.

This is definitely something wrong ony specific device. I tried on another phone withy account and it was fine.

There's corrupt songs on my device and they didn't go away even after uninstalling. How do I fully remove the app from my phone and clear out ALL data?

No, I have lots of WMA and they are direct playing with no problems on both my phone (.35) and my Shield (.37)

Me too, it's just 1 specific device that has an issue. I think there are corrupt files cached on my device somehow. How do I clear the bad files?

Hmm...not sure.  I've never needed to do that 🙁  I'll see if I can find something

There is a Temporary Working Folder, but that's just for downloads and conversions I think

Oh, you can clear cache in app settings just like the Shield

Phone Settings...Apps...  Emby...Storage.   Then there is a Clear data and clear cache button just like on the SHield

@Luke Following up on this. How do I clear these corrupted songs from my Android device?

Posted

Are these downloads? Otherwise threre is nothing to clear

No, they aren't downloads. It seems there's something stuck in cache. How else would you explain the stuttering? I can't think of any other reason why it would be stuttering unless it's using a bad cached file. Any other ideas on what could be going on?

I don't know at those point. Can you provide a sample file for testing? Thanks.

What device and version of android has the problem?

Samsung Galaxy s20, 5g, Android version 12. But, I have 2 phones that are exactly the same and 1 works the other doesn't. Which is why it seems like a cached version of the song is somehow stuck on the phone.

No, there's no caching of played media files. Is this on a remote connection?

On both remote or local. It's the same issue either way. It's baffling.

I wonder if it's just cutting out due to not getting data quickly enough. Please attach the emby server log. Thanks.

Looks like it's direct playing. What you could try to do to confirm that it might be network related is lower the music quality setting and then see if it happens with that. Try setting it to 128k.

Yea, I was looking for that option but I can't find it anywhere. The only place to do that is in downloads. Where exactly should I go to change the setting to 128k?
