thunderclap 52 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I've added a bunch of posters using the -poster.jpg naming scheme to movie folders but nothing in Emby itself has updated yet. How long does it usually take, or is there another step I missed?
arrbee99 1817 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Just a guess, in a browser try refreshing or F5 or ctrl-F5 ?

arrbee99 1817 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Did you try changing the posters in Emby itself using Edit Images, or some other way ?

I usually have to manually scan library files for the library when I add/modify images or nfos in a folder. Maybe they'd get processed eventually, but not before my patience runs out New media items get picked up by the real time monitor quickly for me, though.

I've tried both Refresh Metadata and Scan Library Files and neither works.

Your artwork naming ain't correct. If you use -poster scheme, it must be exactly as movie file name: <moviename>-poster.ext, you're missing (1985) there. Or simply name it poster.jpg. Quote Video images Images are supported in video folders. Below is a table of the supported image file names. Supported image extensions are jpg, jpeg, png, gif and tbn. Several image types support multiple file names. They are listed in the order that they're checked for. Image Type Supported file names Primary {name}.ext {name}-poster.ext {name}-cover.ext {name}-default.ext {name}-movie.ext folder.ext poster.ext cover.ext default.ext movie.ext Art {name}-clearart.ext clearart.ext Backdrop backdrop.ext, backdropX.ext fanart.ext, fanart-X.ext background.ext, background-X.ext art.ext, art-X.ext extrafanart (subfolder)/fanartX.ext Banner {name}-banner.ext banner.ext Disc {name}-disc.ext {name}-cdart.ext disc.ext cdart.ext Logo {name}-logo.ext logo.ext Thumb {name}-thumb.ext {name}-landscape.ext thumb.ext landscape.ext {name} represents the video file name, without extension. For videos that are not contained within their own folder, only the conventions using {name} are supported. For backdrops, X represents a number, and you can have any amount of numbered backdrops. For example: \Movies \300 (2006) backdrop.ext backdrop1.ext backdrop2.ext backdrop3.ext

Once your file names are correct you just need to run a library scan.

My bad, most of my art has the -poster flag (without year) but I missed BTTF. Regardless, I changed it to Back to the Future (1985)-poster.jpg, refreshed the metadata and checked Replace existing image and it still doesn't update.
ebr 16187 Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 If your movies are in their own folders, make life easy for you and just call the file "poster.jpg". 1
