Methodman104 10 Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 About a week ago I noticed trailers stopped playing on my TV, but play on my phone app. I have "Enable Cinema Trailers" checked, so I am not sure what this issue is. One of my TV's is running Emby on Firestick 4k and my other tv is running Emby on RokuTV. I included the latest log file if needed. Thanks in advance ffmpeg-transcode-5810ed43-12db-45ce-b74f-19c4b6b1a372_1.txt
ebr 16185 Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Hi. Can you please explain exactly what you mean by "trailers stopped playing"? What are you doing, what are you expecting, and what is happening? Thanks.
Methodman104 10 Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 Hello ebr, The Cinema Intro's that I created to play at the start of a video no longer play before the video. I have "enable" cinema intro checked, but it does not play...it only plays if I am using the web app or mobile app.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 You're saying this is a "Roku v4.0.31" specific issue, correct?

Under what conditions do you expect them to play? Can you please play one of them that you expect to have an intro for a few seconds and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?

Something that just gives my media server a personal touch a bit. Again, the intros play on my web app and phone app, but not on either of my TV's. embyserver.txt
ebr 16185 Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Hi. Did you send the log from the app as described in the instructions I linked? Also, the two apps you mentioned do not currently play intros before TV shows - only movies. Are you testing with a TV episode?
JustEric78 24 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I have been reporting issues with trailers for quite some time. They have not played from my Windows server to my Shield for a few months and I have seen multiple posts complaining about it. I do not think enough people use them to bother resolving all of the problems. They are either way outdated or just do not play although the intros I setup play just fine.

Not sure why they don't now though, seems like such a simple feature.

If there is any truth to the first part of your comment then that is a shame. I m now noticing that my RokuTV upstairs shows "suggestions" when I go into my tv shows directory, but displays as assigned from the web app "shows" normally on my FireStick 4k and the web and phone apps. I tried checking my settings on that as well and yet for some reason it keeps displaying the "suggestions" category. So that is another thing I am not too thrilled about. When in the TV shows library in the Roku, navigate to the cog icon at the top and choose which tab you would like to be the default.

Thanks I did that, but I hope others who are not computer savvy know how to do this from their TV's when viewing my server.

I worked hard at creating these intro's, and they deserve an audience for the content played on my server.

Its just that TV episodes are not usually associated with a "Cinema" experience. We can look into adding them. 1
