mrmarkfr 8 Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Is there a way to disable the remote website access, but still allow remote Emby Connect users? I'd like the ability to either remove the web access from all users but 1, or disable the web interface all together, while still allowing the Emby connect users access.
Luke 42085 Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Hi, there is currently no option to only disable the web app. I guess you'd have to do that sort of thing with a reverse proxy perhaps.
mrmarkfr 8 Posted January 26, 2022 Author Posted January 26, 2022 ok, thanks, I'm looking into how to set up a reverse proxy now.

Do the user passwords on my server affect people with Emby Connect? ie, if I set up a pw per user on my server, will it only affect people going to the webpage to access my server? People with Emby Connect, connecting through devices(like a FireTV) would not be affected as they're not using the webpage, or am I completely wrong on that? @cayars
Carlo 4561 Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 If you change passwords on your server for users it will only affect them if they login using the local account. It won't matter to any users who login via Emby Connect (any client) as they aren't using that password.

I had left the pw open, as I didn't want to affect people using Connect, but realized a few weeks ago that anyone can access any user, made me realize that my access was too open. Will be implanting strong passwords for the accounts, and setting up the reverse proxy. 1
