Emby server keeps shutting down, and I can't find its files locally

Hello,

New user here. Sorry to be stupid. I downloaded the latest version of the server from the Emby site. That provides a setup.exe file as expected. I ran that & installed Emby on my PC running Windows 10. I was able to configure it, and was able to successfully access the server via a browser from my PC and also from a Rizen client over my network. It worked great and I love it - so much more straightforward than similar programs. But, one day the Emby server shut down unexpectedly. No worries - I figured I would just fire it up again. But, I cannot find the Emby application anywhere on my PC! There is no Emby program listed in my Start menu, and I don't find any Emby folders or files in  the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)"folders on my PC, or in the "Application Data" folder (or its subfolders) of my user account. I can download it again and it will work for a while, then the same shut down happens. I have also installed it via my Windows admin account, with the same result - shut down without a trace of any Emby files on my hard disk. It's got to be here somewhere, I just don't know where.

Any assistance on where to find the files, and how to prevent future shut downs, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Assuming you installed to default path, under Win10 it'll be:

C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server

Thanks! There is no Emby-Server directory at that location in my user profile. However, I did find that directory under the Admin profile, and was able to start the server from the exe file there. So, that is a big improvement.

Any thoughts on why the server keeps shutting down? I know that is a vague and difficult question. I have not received any error messages. It may relate to access from an Emby client on a Mac on my network.

Hi there, please attach the emby server log from when this happens:

Thanks !

Of course - great idea. I just found the logs. There are many - I briefly looked at a few but couldn't make sense of them. I expect the one(s) that immediately preceded the shut down(s) would be the most helpful, but I don't know exactly which one(s) that would be. I will pay more attention going forward and post the log if & when the shut down occurs again. Thanks!

You need only last embyserver-xxxxxxxxx.txt after shutdown occurs.

10-4. I don't know exactly which log that is, & don't want to waste the community's time posting a bunch of logs that may not be helpful.

Now that I know that the logs exist, & where to find them, I will post the final log the next time I have a problem. Thanks!
