Mac OS Emby Client always crashes using AVB

I bought a Mac Mini because it supports AVB sound, which works fine - except for Emby Theatre Client on Mac OS (which is the only app I want to run! I bought the Mac Mini to be an Emby client PC)

I am running latest Mac OS and Emby client from Apple Store.

If I select any other sound device Emby client works fine, and if I switch mid-play to AVB it works - but if I then play another song/movie it crashes immediately everytime.

Well, I waited for the new version of Emby hoping this would be fixed - but it isn't.

Attempting to play anything with AVB set as the sound device crashes Emby Theatre immediately.

I give up.
