djerniehoule 23 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Hello, I am trying to find out why some of the channels that I rename keep going back to default, including images, for example nashville.tv - i would remake Nashville TV it accepts the change, but after a while it’ll go back 1
djerniehoule 23 Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 I am curious, some of my channels like NCAA, ESPN, NFL, etc do not always show up in my guide... When they do I title them the way that I want, change the image, etc... but from time they go back to the default example NHL.US I change to NHL US and it'll go back the NHL.US - am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to stop this change? I am using Emby
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Hi there, how exactly are you changing it?
djerniehoule 23 Posted January 23, 2022 Author Posted January 23, 2022 within the emby app itself, just clicking the channel and changing the meta name not the address
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 What version of emby server? What guide data are you using?
djerniehoule 23 Posted January 23, 2022 Author Posted January 23, 2022 oh sorry, I am using guide data from Apollo TV https://guide.tvnow.best, and my Emby version is 4670
Luke 42080 Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 It's possible the channel is changing in the m3u sufficiently enough that the server sees it as a brand new channel. @cayars are you able to reproduce?
djerniehoule 23 Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 I’m guessing that is what’s happening, it’s mainly on sporting events
Carlo 4561 Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 I haven't had Apollo in a couple of months but it used to change the common sports channels quite a lot giving me the same issues.
djerniehoule 23 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 I spoke with Apollo, and they say this is not a problem on their end, hmmm, now I have changed all of the channels with Emby the way that I want them. If I switch to another IPTV am I going to have to rename everything again?

djerniehoule 23 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 I am fairly new to an iptv service like Apollo... I am wondering seeing they are saying it's not them, is there a setting to prevent this in Emby? Is there another service where this does not happen? Is it even worth fixing images and channel titles?

djerniehoule 23 Posted February 7, 2022 Author Posted February 7, 2022 When i first set up my emby account with Apollo I see channels that look like example: Nfl.nbc.us or whatever, i change in the metadata to NFL NBC 1 and after a while it may reset.
djerniehoule 23 Posted February 7, 2022 Author Posted February 7, 2022 do i have this set up wrong? i’m new to iptv - i just have the list in my pc where that’s my server, and i tune in with roku. I’m not using a tuner box of any kind
Spaceboy 2573 Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 no the problem is emby. there's nothing you can do. there are ways to work around it but they are quite complex. there was also a fix in the emby live tv beta but who knows whats happening there
djerniehoule 23 Posted February 7, 2022 Author Posted February 7, 2022 i see we’ll hope it gets fixed soon or suggestions on a work around.

Please capture the contents of your m3u tuner, then rename one of your channels. Then later, after it gets reset, please capture the contents of your m3u tuner again. Then we can look at both of them and compare and see what changed. Thanks.
djerniehoule 23 Posted February 7, 2022 Author Posted February 7, 2022 that’s what they look like now, but after a while it’ll vanish or reappear as nhl.1.us

Thanks.
