Hello,

  • I am trying to find out why some of the channels that I rename keep going back to default, including images, for example nashville.tv - i would remake Nashville TV it accepts the change, but after a while it’ll go back

I am curious, some of my channels like NCAA, ESPN, NFL, etc do not always show up in my guide... When they do I title them the way that I want, change the image, etc... but from time they go back to the default example NHL.US I change to NHL US and it'll go back the NHL.US - am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to stop this change? I am using Emby

Hi there, how exactly are you changing it?

within the emby app itself, just clicking the channel and changing the meta name not the address

What version of emby server? What guide data are you using?

It's possible the channel is changing in the m3u sufficiently enough that the server sees it as a brand new channel.

@cayars are you able to reproduce?

I’m guessing that is what’s happening, it’s mainly on sporting events

I haven't had Apollo in a couple of months but it used to change the common sports channels quite a lot giving me the same issues.

I spoke with Apollo, and they say this is not a problem on their end, hmmm, now I have changed all of the channels with Emby the way that I want them. If I switch to another IPTV am I going to have to rename everything again?

Hi, potentially yes.

I am fairly new to an iptv service like Apollo... I am wondering seeing they are saying it's not them, is there a setting to prevent this in Emby? Is there another service where this does not happen? Is it even worth fixing images and channel titles?

Hi there, please go over a specific example. Thanks.

When i first set up my emby account with Apollo I see channels that look like example: Nfl.nbc.us or whatever, i change in the metadata to NFL NBC 1 and after a while it may reset.

no the problem is emby. there's nothing you can do. there are ways to work around it but they are quite complex.

there was also a fix in the emby live tv beta but who knows whats happening there

i see we’ll hope it gets fixed soon or suggestions on a work around.

Please capture the contents of your m3u tuner, then rename one of your channels. Then later, after it gets reset, please capture the contents of your m3u tuner again. Then we can look at both of them and compare and see what changed. Thanks.

that’s what they look like now, but after a while it’ll vanish or reappear as nhl.1.us

No I mean please capture the contents of your actual m3u that you are importing into emby server, both now, and then again after it changes back. Thanks.
