Cannot update MB

I am getting this strange error when I try updating. Nothing wrong with the download - works fine when tried on a different machine. 

The ..\Temp\MediaBrowser directory is created by the installer but immediately disappears.

 

Any log file I can attach?

Is this using the built in process or doing it manually by downloading the setup.exe.  Which ever one our are doing try the other way and see if it works.  Also are you running this as administrator?

Go into the %appdata%/mediabrowser-server/update and delete everything in it, then delete the update folder. Restart Mediabrowser after and it should launch. Update will need to be done again and downloaded. This has happened to me before.

Turned out that it was my Sophos UTM threat management server that caused it. I had unblocked all the MB domains but it still blocked the installer from updating. It was not until I told it to ignore my MB server host completely that the problem disappeared. 

 

Never had issues with any other installers; there is evidently something unique to the MBS install process.
