deallier 8 Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Hi Happy new year to everyone just a quick question i seen to have a duplicate set of hardware decoders/encoders i did a few weeks back have some how two sets of graphic card drivers installed windows installed its own one for the card then i installed the one from nvidia and then i had duplicates listed on emby i then restarted into safe mode uninstalled all the graphic card driver with a program DDU v18.0.4.7 then reinstalled just the nvidia graphic card driver but i still have the duplicates listed so i found this file in emby encoding so that you can see and on the picture the ones with the tick are the ones that are duplicate how do i remove them from the list /system thanks for your help Dom encoding.xml
Luke 42085 Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Hi, please attach the emby server and hardware detection log files. thanks.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 (edited) Pretty sure this has been this way for a while for decoders. But wasn't sure as this is Headless/RDP. Both my beta and stable servers show this. snippet of decoders hardware_detection-63777866481.txt Local test system with monitor appears fine. Edited January 16, 2022 by Happy2Play
deallier 8 Posted January 16, 2022 Author Posted January 16, 2022 Hi Here are the logs you asked forhardware_detection-63777947269.txtembyserver.txt
softworkz 5073 Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Yes, it seems in fact that Windows doubles the DXGI device in certain headless/RDP scenarios. We need to find a way to eliminate the duplicates. But which are the duplicates? The ones with [1] or the ones without? Are both working? (please note: in this case it's only about those decoders where the name starts with "DX11VA")
deallier 8 Posted January 18, 2022 Author Posted January 18, 2022 hi The ones with [1] are the duplicates if i dont select them but do select the ones without [1] when i refresh the page they are selected anyway but if i look in the file encoding.xml it would suggest that they are not active. and in the hardware detection file they are listed as adapter no 1 and not 0 like the rest <CodecConfiguration> <IsEnabled>true</IsEnabled> <Priority>100</Priority> <CodecId>V-D-vp9_d3d11va-d3d11va-devid7298</CodecId> </CodecConfiguration> <CodecConfiguration> <IsEnabled>false</IsEnabled> <Priority>0</Priority> <CodecId>V-D-vp9_d3d11va-d3d11va-devid7298</CodecId> </CodecConfiguration> <CodecConfiguration> <IsEnabled>true</IsEnabled> <Priority>98</Priority> <CodecId>V-D-vp9_cuvid-nv-cudaId0</CodecId> </CodecConfiguration>
softworkz 5073 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Ah thanks, I see it. They will be easy to sort out by devid.
softworkz 5073 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 This is fixed for the next beta! Thanks a lot for reporting.
