instrumentally 8 Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 I have the Emby Server installed on a Windows 2016 server. I find that often Emby fails to utilize the embedded album artwork found within the mp3 files of my music library. Why would this be the case? I've created a YouTube video that shows the issue: https://youtu.be/TLWqsq1UdI8
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 You have Song Image extractor disabled. Enable the option then Refresh the items or Library. 1

Thanks, but something doesn't make sense here. Why doesn't Emby just use the embedded artwork, regardless of whether the "Song Image extractor" option is on or off? The artwork is embedded in the mp3 file for a reason, but Emby seems to care less about this fact. 1
instrumentally 8 Posted January 15, 2022 Author Posted January 15, 2022 I have turned on the "Song Image Fetcher", then rescanned the library, and yet, nothing has changed. The very same tracks with missing cover art is still missing the cover art, despite the fact that the mp3 files all have embedded JPGs.

instrumentally 8 Posted January 15, 2022 Author Posted January 15, 2022 I have done as I have been instructed, by turning on "Song image extractor" and rescanning the library. This makes zero difference. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRKo8XgvH40

This makes zero difference. Rescanning is not Refreshing. Three-dot menu>Refresh Metadata, select options you prefer.
instrumentally 8 Posted January 15, 2022 Author Posted January 15, 2022 I'm not sure how I was supposed to know that the instructions to "Refresh the items or Library" was the equivalent of "Refresh metadata".

Your Videos shows you doing Library Scan, did you do "Refresh metadata"? If so please provide the server log. You could try removing the tracks from the library, scan library, and readd the tracks.

livetotell 0 Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) Ignore this - found it. For anyone else searching: 1. Go to Settings 2.Click on Library 3. Click the three dots on the library you want to edit the settings for (not the Advanced option at the top of the page you're on) 4. Click Edit - fetcher options are in here. Can someone help me find this 'song image fetchers' option, please? There are a lot of settings options and I've not been able to find it. Thanks!
