BruceDavid 4 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Hi, I have season 10 of Columbo (see screenshot below). Emby is not picking-up all of the episodes. I think the reason is that there are various configurations as to the episodes for the season. The ordering that I am using was used by Wikipedia. IMDB breaks it down into seasons 10-13 and The TVDB stops at season 10 but with only a few episodes. So, is there a way that I can manually add the episodes to Emby? Thanks.
seanbuff 1318 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 You can try using TheMovieDB as your source for this one, they seem to have the complete Season 10 as per your file structure https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/873-columbo/season/10 1
BruceDavid 4 Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 Thanks. But, how do I do that? If I go to metadata editor for season 10 on Emby, the only external source that is shown is The TVDB. Where would I input TheMovieDB as the source of metadata?
GrimReaper 4744 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 In your library settings metadata downloaders elevate TMDB on top via arrows on the right side, afterwards on item three-dot menu>Refresh Metadata>Replace all.
BruceDavid 4 Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 Thanks but that doesn't seem to work. I did as you suggested and my library setting looks like yours above but when I go to the specific season - edit metadata, the only external provider is still TheTVDB.

What level is that the metadata editor for? Try it at the series level.

This will change it globally for ALL future shows .. ? Why not just add the TMDB provider Id for Colombo and use refresh for missing metadata - will this not refresh from the provider Id ?

Once done with Columbo, revert? Edited January 13, 2022 by GrimReaper Typo
BruceDavid 4 Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 If I look at the metadata editor for the series, IMDB is listed first (see below) even though TMDB is listed first in library-metadata settings. I tried deleting the IMDB ID shown below (leaving the field blank) but that did not solve the problem. Thoughts? Thanks.

Have you tried temporarily unselecting the other providers, just leave TheMovieDb and do a re-"Identify" on the Columbo series level using "873" as the ID? 1
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 IMDB is never used directly due to high costs. That id can be queried at other provider sites though. But with TVDB not having this complete information you have provider mismatches, so you have to play around with providers and lock metadata on items. I would remove Season 10, do library scan, ensure no nfo files reside with media. Go to Library and disable all but TMDB for Series/Season/Episode metadata fetcher. Add Season 10, scan, then lock season 10 and readjust library fetchers.
