Justus 8 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Hey, I have the problem that I can not load the catalog, so it loads some time and then the circle disappears without showing anything. As I read in the forum it's probably because I can't connect to Emby. Maybe an error has crept in because I was forced to migrate the server to another PC about 1 month ago, although I think this error has occurred only recently. I have a normal internet connection, have restarted the server several times and also the router. I have attached the log file. Edited January 6, 2022 by Justus
Solution Luke 42083 Posted January 4, 2022 Solution Posted January 4, 2022 Hi, yes it looks like you have something blocking emby server from sending out requests. Typical causes of this are firewall, security software, or VPN. Can you look into this?
Justus 8 Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) I dont have a security software on this PC and dont use VPN. I havent changed anything in the firewall.. Do i need specific ingoing or outgoing rules? Edit: I also tried with disabling the firewall and windows defender but same problem Edited January 4, 2022 by Justus

Do i need specific ingoing or outgoing rules? You don't need to add anything to windows firewall, but you may want to check it to ensure there are no blocking rules added.

Luke 42083 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Nonetheless, I can't tell you why the outgoing requests are being blocked in your personal environment, I can only confirm this is what is happening, and I stand by my previous response as the most likely reason for this based on what we've seen.

Reinstall the server or are there other solutions? Also, did you mean by "blocking rules added" ANY blocking rules or just for emby? Because i have 3 Computer games using blocking rules but i cant imagine they have anything to do with it.. Edited January 4, 2022 by Justus

Justus 8 Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 So I fixed it, after I reinstalled the server again and then my domain stopped working because ports were closed, I looked again in the firewall and there were Emby services blocked (after the reinstall before they were open). In the process I also allowed the two games that were blocked and now the catalog works again. Seems like the games were also blocking something that Emby needs.
