Misinthe 46 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Hello everyone, I have a weird situation, I have a couple episodes that should be 2 45min run but they're split in 2, so I have 4 20ish minutes episodes. Is there a way to make emby read them split like that? Thank you,
arrbee99 1817 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Would something like S01E01 Episode 1 (Part 1) S01E01 Episode 1 (Part 2) S01E02 Episode 2 (Part 1) S01E02 Episode 2 (Part 2) work ?

This just made it the same episode but different "Versions", so it won't play one after the other, it's more like either/or.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 There is no way that I know of for "file stacking" when it comes to episodes, "file stacking" is movies only. Your best bet would be joining this media if possible.

Yes, and now what you can do is split them from the episode details page, and then manually rename them so they're in the correct sequence for proper playback.

Actually, this should work also as once "split apart" they should not automatically rejoin (unless you are using the auto grouping plugin). Don't know how playback sequence would work though as S01E01 only has one meaning. But thinking about it, Emby tracks by providerid so any section of the episode would consider all sections watched. rbjtech 5284 Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Just use mkvtoolnix (free) to join the files - it will save you time and effort, playback of multi-part files is just plagued with issues in most clients. Simply drag part 1 into the window, then drag part 2 into the same window - choose 'append'. Click save to write to a new single file. That's it. 1
