Remote (WAN) access is not working for some reason

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

As the title implies , the Remote (WAN) access doesnt work for me .After some searches , i found this article and followed everything mentioned in there - https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity .

1) Firstly the In-Home ( LAN ) access is working fine , no issues there

2) I made sure that the ip address showing up in WAN access is indeed the correct one .

It outputs the below error :

Error: I could not see your service on XXX.XX.XX.XX on port (8096)
Reason: Connection timed out

I think my provider has be behind CGANT.

Any help will be appreciated.

Can you show us what your port forwarding looks like in your router?
Feel free to cover your WAN address.

I am using google Wi-Fi with no router in front.

I was asking about port forwarding not port management.

Forwarding is the rules setup on the router to tell it to take inbound traffic on a specific port from the outside and send it to a specific IP on the inside of the your network.
Without that setup Emby Server would have no way to receive any Internet packets (it didn't solicit).
