horstepipe 422 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Hello If you have a movie in dvd quality and set custom tags and genres and later you get that movie in bluray quality so you are going to update it in Emby, is there a way to keep the custom tags and genres which were manually added to the movie?
ebr 16184 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 If the movies are in their own folder and you save metadata to NFO files then this should just work without any further work on your part.

In my experience, the custom nfo data like tags and custom rating will only apply to one version when the versions are grouped. You have to manually edit the nfo for additional versions, or temporarily ungroup to edit the additional versions through the metadata editor. If each version is set up as its own movie, then the tags would have to be copied from the existing version to the new, or recreated manually through the UI. If there's a way to automatically have the customized nfo data apply to all versions, I'd like to learn how to do it. Edited January 4, 2022 by roaku

I interpreted his intention as to replace the lower quality version, not create multiple versions... 1
