DoeBoye 1 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 I have manually changed several fields of a movie's metadata as a test, and I expected that when I clicked 'Refresh all metadata" for that movie, those changed fields (confirmed not locked) would 'reset' back to what they should have in them. Instead what I am seeing is the modified data with no change. Every time I manually modify the data either directly from the movie page, or through MetaData Manager, the metadata saves and the movie displays the newly changed text, so I don't think it's a permission issue... Also, not sure if it matters, but I am using external nfo files to store the metadata. When I delete the nfo file, and hit refresh, it re-creates it, but uses the modified metadata, and not metadata from OMDB etc... Is there a delay for scraped metadata to appear while there is none for manually changed metadata? (Note: I am not refreshing the entire catalog, just the one movie). Thanks for any clarification!
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 (edited) May depend on the system and other variables, but there shouldn't be a delay unless the server is doing other tasks at the time. But you may need to go over a specific examples (what fields) and include the server log for that action. Tested on a couple movies and series editing overview and deleted some genres, then refreshed them and everything reset to what it should be. But yes if provider does not have the field then a Refresh will not clear manually added fields. Edited December 31, 2021 by Happy2Play

But yes if provider does not have the field then a Refresh will not clear manually added fields. That's how I assumed it would work... These are the field I edited: Original title, Tagline, Overview, Parental rating (made sure to unlock it before saving), Release date, and Year. Now, after all that, I shutdown and restarted the server to get a fresh log of the process, but now, when I refresh the metadata, it behaves as expected!! I update manually the fields above, save, go to movies home screen, re-open the changed movie, refresh the metadata, go home and back to movie again, and the metadata reflects the refreshed metadata... I guess we can close this one, though I'm curious why a reboot would make it behave as expected....
