lapin 0 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Hi, I'm searching for the "play from here" feature on Samsung TV :) I'll try to explain what I want to achieve: Let's assume I have 3 folders: music/pop music/rock music/kids I enter to one of these and pick a song from the middle of my list, because i want to here this one, but after that I want to play all songs from this folder (in random order or one by one with default order) is it possible?
Luke 42077 Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Hi, usually just playing the song will do this for you. What version of the Emby Samsung app are you using?
lapin 0 Posted January 2, 2022 Author Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Hi Luke, Tank you for answering. Im using 1.1.09 version: My folders looks like this: and playing first file from first folder like this (of course I'm playing first file from folder for testing purposes only - I want to be able to play any file from this folder and after that emby should continue playing other files from this folder in order selected next to "play all button"): and after that I'm ending with something like this (no previous and no next file in queue) so after first song emby stops playing. Making some kind of playlist to achieve that is not convenient, because content of folders is changing a lot. Any advices? Edited January 2, 2022 by lapin
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 @lapin how exactly are you starting playback?
lapin 0 Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Like on 3rd image from my previous post? Entering folder, press OK on the file i want to start playing from this folder and then the play button from the 3rd image from my previous post. After that emby plays only this file. There is no option to play all files from folder, starting from specific file.
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Did you try clicking play all at the top of the folder list screen?
lapin 0 Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Play all does not allow to choose first file to begin with

lapin 0 Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 I'll try when I come back home but I'm afraid have no such button https://images.app.goo.gl/8K3P4MdTNxKecqKL9
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Interesting. We'll have to see if it's possible to implement a long press context menu like other platforms.

Move left and select the 'i' button, then you can select 'Play all from here'
lapin 0 Posted February 14, 2022 Author Posted February 14, 2022 Thanks for replying SamES. It's so uncomfortable I'll use the Samsung default app to play music from emby because it behaves "as should" by default
SamES 1057 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Yes, that's the downside of a Smart remote, fewer buttons=more button presses. Samsung sell a "Basic" remote that is a full remote control which you can buy cheaply and it generally works regardless of the model/year. It's an infrared style remote, so at some stage they may drop support for it if they haven't already. I have several I've collected/bought over the years and it is the preferred remote in our household. Worth grabbing one to restore your sanity! Even from Samsung it was <$30
FrostByte 5392 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I got the multi button remote like that with a BD player I bought 8 years ago, and it still works with every new TV, soundbar, etc I've gotten since. I just saw one on Amazon for $11 US.
