Need manual interaction to refresh the played status

Hi, when an episode finishes playing and returns to the episode screen it shows it as unplayed, have to go back to see the correct played status and select the next episode.

It would be nice to show the next episode when the last has the played status (or update the status on that screen)

But can say I randomly see similar on the beta channel.  But I usually play directly from Latest Row or TV Library.

Sorry I add some images, just played this episode, it would be nice to show the next on this screen, not the just watched.

Also I think when I don't wait it to finish the last x seconds and press "back" the played check is not checked, so I have to go back and forward, will try to capture this when finish watching another episode.

Hi.  That is showing that the item is watched (the red check).

You would need to watch it past the max resume % as set in your server library settings.

It's working now, my bad, the only thing remaining is that when a Episode ends emby shows the next and not the one just watched.

although i find no problem with the correct statuses being applied post playback. the 4.0.43 client doesnt update the status icons properly on the episode thumbnails on post playback screen VISUALLY. i am thinking about the played status tick icon on the just played episode on the episode ribbon.

 

on a related note although the continue watching ribbon is very good at updating itself when it needs to...there is an issue on playback progress bar overly on episodes on continue watching ribbon.

namely..if  s01e04 has progress 70% as shown by green bar at bottom of thumbnail on cw ribbon...

then play (finish) episode s01e04.

s01e05 will be shown when going back to home screen (correct) but s01e05 will have the 70% progress bar on its thumbnail.

perhaps when the cw ribbon is called for refresh, the show's episode thumbnail's progressbar also needs to be considered for refresh.

Yes sir. Fully reproduced and corrected. This was a problem the entire life of the application not something recently done. Would only affect the "Continue Watching" row. To avoid spoilers Continue Watching uses the parent image of the series rather than the screenshot of the episode. Since the series image is the same for every episode the mechanism to update would cache the image rather than refresh. Below is the entry on our tracker for this fix. There is now a cache defeat mechanism for the progress.

personally i think theres a an even more important reason than spoilers to use the shows thumbnail rather than the episodes thumbnail on cw ribbon....when emby used to use the episodes thumbnail it was much less obvious what show was what on such a crucial bit of the ui.

Correct.  That is the real reason we use the series thumb there.
