instrumentally 8 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) I successfully installed Emby to my Windows Server 2016 approx. 3 weeks ago. I was able to stream just fine back then. Then I lost electricity and the server rebooted. Ever since, I cannot get any mp3 file to play. Although I can connect to the server via a Windows web browser within my LAN, and also via an Android smartphone, when I tap on a track to listen to, I always get the following message: Playback Error. No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. How is it possible that a server reboot can cause the complete failure to play back tracks? See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNQY-SNTDXc Edited December 29, 2021 by instrumentally
Luke 42086 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Hi there, can we please go over an example? Thanks !
instrumentally 8 Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) I searched the Knowledge Base for "Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." and got ZERO results. So what exactly have I done wrong by posting my question here? Edited December 29, 2021 by instrumentally

Sure, the video shows an issue, but a log can possibly identify the cause of the issue. Majority of the time it is a path change issue. 1

instrumentally 8 Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) I think I may know what the issue is. My mp3 files are not on the server, but on my LAN, on another Windows PC. I am thinking that the failure to play back the mp3 files is on account of the fact that the server has not permanently saved the username/password to that network path, hence it cannot access the mp3 files. If I use explorer.exe and enter the network path to my media library, and then enter my username/password for that other PC, then and only then Emby begins playing the mp3 files on that other PC. Correct, as Emby imported the media from a specific location but no longer has access to that location. 2021-12-29 08:10:44.484 Info LibraryMonitor: Skipping realtime monitor for \\AMD-R7\d_amd_r7\music because the path does not exist System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The user name or password is incorrect. : '\\AMD-R7\d_amd_r7\music\Greg Stultz - Scripture Songs - 1 Chronicles 28-9-10.mp3'

Yes that's exactly it. Glad you figure it out.
