*-thumb.jpg all of a sudden is populating my TV show directories

Not exactly sure when this started, but I can't seem to find a place to turn it off. In my TV directories  a file with a -thumb.jpg extension is being created for each of my videos (obviously with a thumb from the video).

I have looked everywhere, unchecked thumb in the setting in the library etc. etc.

Any help would be appreciated, I don't need the extra pics or the space being taken up (I  have thousands of TV videos)

Thanks!!!

In your Library settings, disable "Save artwork into media folders" option.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll try that, but that checkbox has always been checked for literally years and this only started in the last few weeks, and it is not global, it is here and there.. some directories have them some don't, no rhyme or reason.

I'll get back to you if it stops! or not.. 🙂

Hi there, can you please go over an example? Thanks.

Ok, the heirarchy on my TV drives directories is as follows:

Top level is the Series Name.

In that sub directory is the series info, posters etc.

The next level subdirectorie are the Seasons, Seaon1,2 etc. and where the videos are kept. At first I thought it was the create thumbs option, but that is diabled (no triggers)

It is in these subs that the -thumb.jpg are popping up..

Since these are episode thumbs you have to look as your Library Episode image options.

Settings-Library, enable Show Advanced settings

Color me stupid, but the episode fetcher settings are the only ones that don't have the ability to include/exclude specific images. These have all always been checked, but only recently have the thumbs been showing up.

Are you saying I need to uncheck all of these??

If you do not want episode images/thumbs, yes.  If you had them enabled they should have always been saved where they are now unless you have permissions issues and they failed over to /metadata/library folder.

It sounds like you want the images, but just not stored in your media folders next to the video files. In that case I wouldn't turn off the image fetchers or you'll get nothing at all. Just disable saving images to media folders.

@Happy2Play & Luke - Permissions was one of the things I have checked in the past due to some weird problems I had with read only files being downloaded, checked again an all is right, so it is not a permissions problem. I have turned off the episode fetchers since my download program will supply them and have disabled saving images. I have no idea why they images only just started popping up in the last several weeks.

Thanks for your help, will let you know if this worked.
