Tagging multiple episodes at once can't be done?

Trying to add a tag to a bunch of episodes so next year they can easily be found for holiday viewing. Im going into the metadata editor, highlighting say, 6 episodes and adding a tag and saving. When I search for this tag in Emby nothing shows up and going back to look at the tag info for the episodes I am seeing that they dont have the tag I added. 

If I do one episode at a time it saves and works but I cant imagine you cant batch tag things cant you?

A little cumbersome especially on a Mac but its getting the job done and I will be using it but @Luke, shouldn't the Metadata editor be able to do the same thing?
