jackthedoc 12 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I apologise if this matter has been dealt with elsewhere, but I don't have the vocabulary necessary to try different ways of asking my question Up until very recently, when I started my Windows computer my Firefox browser would open, show a "splash screen" saying Emby then it would open a page that showed my different libraries and recently added movies, TV series, music etc. Over the last few days, when I restart my computer, Firefox opens and displays the Emby "splash screen" but goes no further. If I cut and paste the URL details into my Edge browser, it behaves as the Firefox browser used to - progressing to my libraries. Firefox is constantly updating its security protocols and I suspect, from the different browser behaviours, that something in Firefox is preventing the progress. I have not added new add-ons for quite some time, so I can't blame them, can I? I would appreciate any help that might be forthcoming Thanks John Norris
Luke 42086 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Hi, what version of firefox? What url is in the browser address bar?
viking19 32 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I had the same issue yesterday, for me it was ublock origin that suddenly decided to block localhost. If you have any ad blockers check that first, maybe even the Firefox built in ad blocker.
jackthedoc 12 Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Firefox version 95.0.2 (i.e., the very latest iteration) I do have uBlock origin installed... Do you suggest that I disable/remove it? Sorry for the delay in responding, but iinet, one of Australia's oldest premium ISP/NBN providers, went into meltdown and most of its services have been unavailable since Christmas Day... While I no longer use this company as a national broadband provider, I have this legacy email address as my main mail service because I had used it for 20 years or so and couldn't be bothered re-registering a new email provided by my current provider, so I suffered shut-down of my mail with iinet's collapse over the weekend. The service is now available again, but very very slow and occasionally it shuts down. Thanks John Norris
viking19 32 Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Disable ublock origin then try starting Emby again, if it works then you have some choices, either allow localhost as a filter or add Emby as a trusted site (ublock can be turned off on a site by site basis). 1
arrbee99 1817 Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Get this as well. Will have to check out my ublock settings...
jackthedoc 12 Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 Bless you all! Thanks, and a happy new year to all the Embians. (sounds like some space alien from Doctor Who)
