Hello, it may be a simple question but emby renames my episodes in diffrent seasons in japanese and treats every season as it would be season 1. it ditects the season corretly but it renames the episodes wrong. is there a setting ive overlooked?

You have to check if the metadata provider (thetvdb, themoviedb) has the language you selected available for the episodes of that particular series if not it will use other available language like japanese for eg.

Its a matter of metadata provider language availability, emby just search it according to the language you selected but can only work with what is available.

You say every season is treated as season 1, and also that it detects the seasons correctly.  Which one is it?

Can you show us the full name of a file, and confirm what file you have specified in the library setup.

I fixed it somehow. i enabled in the advanced settings "Prefer embedded titles over filenames"  and put for the metadata proxer under everything else (it was on top). after i refreshed the metadata and restartet the server it was fixed.

The first setting is irrelevant for identification, I think; the second will be what mattered.
