SucksToBeYou 0 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Hi, I am trying to stream a movie. The movie is an AVI file encoded in MPEG4. The streaming works fine when streaming to an Android device, but doesn't work when streaming to a browser - neither Chrome nor Firefox work (the latter never works with any movie). Any Ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!

Luke 42082 Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 @SucksToBeYou Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
visproduction 315 Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Browsers do not support .AVI videos. Browsers support H.264 - MPEG4 AVC Part 10 Avc1 and audio Mpeg AAC. Safari and older version of MS Edge have supported H.265 .mkv. I have not checked if that is still valid. It is my understanding that any other codec for video or audio would trigger a reencoding. There is some option to direct play with Emby. I have not tried that. Perhaps someone can answer that question. We don't really know what is going on with your video without a sample and logs.
