Hi,

I have a question about the realtime subtitle extraction setting.

For me this means to prevent transcoding it will extract the incompatible subtitles, so wouldn't this mean, subtitles should never be a reason for transcoding?

I have a lot of movies using transcoding on my Samsung TV as the tv only can handle SRT without problems.

Is there something i misunderstood?

thanks

Hi, if the TV supports the subtitle format, or if the subtitle format is plain text and can be easily converted to something the TV supports, then yes, this will help avoid transcoding.

It won't help for something like PGS subtitles which are graphic and can't be easily converted to plain text.
