Amazon requiring puchase of the Emby app?

Hi all, hope someone can tell me what I'm missing. I recently purchased a Fire TV and downloaded the Emby app from the Amazon store. It worked fine for two weeks, but now I'm being told I have to pay Amazon $5 to unlock the app to continue using it. Is this typical of Amazon? I suspect its because I have the Emby app on my Kindle Fire tablet as well because it mentions multiple uses. If that is the case I have to reconsider using the Fire TV's built in streaming service and switch back to my Roku device.

Do you have Premiere subscription? 

If not, to enable full playback after two-week trial you need to unlock app.
