karbonade 1 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Hi, I run Emby (4.6.4.0) on a Synology NAS (7.1) and so far it is doing fine. But now I run into a problem with playing a self made music playlist. To make a new playlist I selected the folder with the tracks and selected "add to playlist". I gave the playlist a name (Kerst, see attachment). When ik click on Play at the playlist, only the first track is played. In the playlist itself I see all the tracks and I can start them one by one. The play list is made of the content of a complete folder and has tracks from various albums/artist (134 Christmas tracks). When I play other folders, the content is played without a problem but in these folders there is only one album per folder. Am I doing somthing wrong? Edited December 24, 2021 by karbonade
Abobader 3470 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Hello karbonade, ** This is an auto reply ** Please wait for someone from staff support or our members to reply to you. It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread: Thank you. Emby Team
Luke 42086 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Hi, what Emby app are you trying to play with?
karbonade 1 Posted December 24, 2021 Author Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) The Sonos app (1.0.10.0). The app should send it to my Sonos. That works for other folders that I play. If I play the Kerst-playlist without using the Sonos app, I see it plays at least more that one track. Edited December 24, 2021 by karbonade
Luke 42086 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Quote That works for other folders that I play. Hi, what do you mean by it works for other folders? Can you please give an example? Thanks.
karbonade 1 Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 OK. I have a lot of folders who are named as the artist of the album. These folders have sub folders that contain albums. When I play these albums and play them with the Sonos app all goes well. Al songs are played sequential as it should. Now I made a folder called Kerst and I put 134 tracks in it. The tracks I've collected over a long period and they don't come from one specific album or so. They are downloads from internet collected over a long period of time. When I try to play that with the Sonos app, only the first track from this folder is played and then it stops playing. I've made a playlist but that gives the same problem. I hope I made it clear now. If not, please let me know. So far, thank you for your patience.
karbonade 1 Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) I foud out what the problem is. In the folder there are mp3 tracks and flac tracks. It are the flac tracks that make the transfer of the playlist stop after the first file has been transferred to the playlist on the Sonos. It apears that the second track is a flac track. When I remove all the flac tracks from the folder the playlist plays all the mp3 files as it should be. Leaves me with another question: is it not possible to play flac tracks? Or shoud these track be converted or so? I hope I can play them because I've got a lot of flac tracks The bit depth of the tracks is 16 bit and Sonos (version 1) should be able to play that. The frequency is 44.100 Hz. Is there a problem for Emby? Edited December 30, 2021 by karbonade
Luke 42086 Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Quote should be able to play that. The frequency is 44.100 Hz. Is there a problem for Emby? There's no problem for Emby, but does the Sonos support that?
karbonade 1 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Some of the track can be played and some not although they have the same frequency. But for now this is no problem. I convert it all to mp3. Thanks for the support to all of you.
