Is the Windows 8.1 app going to merge with Windows Phone App?

Title says it all: Is the Windows 8.1 app going to merge with the windows phone app?

 

There are things that I really like about both and would love if they came across to both platforms and had a little more consistent user experience.

We actually don't know what is going to happen.. We'll see what microsoft got up their sleeve on the 30th of september..

If you could list what you would like to be brought over from one to the other, we could atleast start with that.

Well before looking at specific features that could be shared between the two apps, I think one helpful feature would be syncing settings.  So if I have certain options set, those same options can be enabled in the other app.  That would include my server configuration. Of course, syncing should be an optional feature so that those that like to have unique setups for both are accommodated.

 

Of course, while both apps could share many features, there will still be platform specific difference due to things like different screen sizes. 

 

I'm very interested in seeing how far MS can merge the platforms, because it could open up some pretty nice possibilities for developers.
