Music library display

Hi all

I would like to confirm if something is possible or not in Emby.

My music library is structured as follows:

Albums - a letter for each artist (i.e. A for artists beginning with the letter A etc)

Singles - a folder for each decade

I have created Emby libraries as per the above structure, and have discovered that the libraries are displaying content from folders other than the one specified.

Is there a way to prevent this behaviour and to only display the contents from the folder specified?

Only folder view will display your structure.  All other views will used embedded tags to create their views.

But overall do not understand the issue as describe for displaying content of folders not specified.  Can you provide specific examples?

This is how the library has been set up - all of the albums from folder E

 

The songs and album circled are not from the folder E

Where do they belong?  Need more context.

Are you saying you have multiple Music libraries, and each library shows content from the other?

But the issue is that view is not library specific, it is Artist specific (people/Artists are not library/parentid specific), it shows everything that belongs to said person.  

So this would be like asking why does person "Harry Cavill" show Movies and TV shows and episodes as they are all in different libraries.

Right, thanks for the clarification. Now I understand how it works.

Unfortunately that's not how I want my music to display, so I guess I'll stick with Plex.

Only view that is your structure is Folder view.

All other views will correlate from embedded tags.  Artist is a global view for everything on the sever linked to said Artist via database item linking.

Right, you could always use folder view.
