Problems importing music

Hi,

I recently moved back from Emby running in Docker to Emby on Windows.

I started from scratch and importing movies and tv shows went smooth as before, but importing my music does seem to be a problem.

It imports everything correct, but it doesn't seem to identify anything properly. I get images for the Albums, but when i look to edit/change the image Emby can't find any images.

For artists or album artists it doesn't find any images at all. When i try to identify an artist and then look for pictures it works as expected.

How can i re-scan my music collection in Emby so it picks up all the images again?

It worked before with this collection so i'm confused as why it's not identifying any albums/artists and picking any of the artist images up now?

I'm on version 4.6.7.0 on Windows 10 21H1

First of all, thanks for always being first to reply!!!!

I created a new Music Library. Added 2 folders. first folder contains artist/album/files. Second folder is just a folder with random songs i like

First I tried adding all songs by using just the .nfo files since i had all this music in Emby before. When i did that after the scan, i see all my music. Most albums have a cover picture like usual. But when i go to Album Artist or Artist, i see all the artists, but none of them have a picture. If i click on edit picture and search it can't find anything for the artist, if i identify the artist first and then search for pictures it shows me options for pictures.

I've tried re-scanning my music library replacing all metadata and pictures, but the result stays the same. I see a picture for the Album, but nothing for the artists.

If i go and look in the metadata/musicartists path i only see 2 folders, those are for the artists i identified.

So as an example:

In albums i see 18 from Moby with album cover.

If i look in Artists or Album Artists and look for Moby it has no picture for the artist

If i try and look for a pictur, it can't find anything

If i then identify the Artist Moby as Moby then i can look for pictures and find them

Is there a way for Emby to pick up all the artists again without having to identify them 1 by 1

This is what it looks like when i try to look for a new album or artist picture

Is there anything i can to to trigger a scan that will identify the artists and download images for them?

If i check my mp3's in mp3tag, they all have the artist and album artist filled out.

Before, Emby has scanned in these exact same files and it did work. I'm not sure why it's not doing anything now.

I also noticed, on a side note, that a lot of the actors also don't have any images. Movies and tv show images get picked up without a problem

@Bambu Utila what metadata and image fetchers are enabled on the music library, and in what order?

OK, try refreshing the metadata on an album or artist and see if that helps. Thanks.

Hi,

if i refresh the metadata myself and check the Replace existing images box then it seems to work.

But there must be a way to do this for all artists in one go, rather than individually?

You could try doing that on the entire music library.
