Metadata not updating Seasons

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a TV show in my library and files have the right naming convention and all the metadata is correct, but when I open the show, instead of showing all the episodes in seasons, it just has 1 season with all episodes in it. And when it plays, it plays in the right order, instead of the order that is in the "Season 70".

Would need to see metadata for at least one episode.  If you write nfo files, can you post one.

How do I do this?

Either screenshots of edit metadata on an episode or if you have nfo files with media then a copy of an episode nfo file.

Looks correct, In Emby can you select edit metadata on that episode and show what it has for Season/Episode number.

Here you go!

My guess would be parser gets confused with "70s" in the filename, as a test could you rename that episode to "That.Show.S01E01.720p.etc" and rescan?

Don't know how this is possible as metadata would appear to be correct so Season 1 could never be Season 70.

All I can suggest is removing the series, scanning, and readding the series.

If the same thing happens, can you test creating a new library and copy or move this series to a new library.

I agree, but it obviously gets presented as such. What's even more interesting is this:

🤔

Edit: Let OP do all three tests, I'm very curious of the results:

1) rename single episode, rescan

2) remove whole series, scan, re-add, scan

3) move, create new library, scan

Before I do, here are all the Seasons .nfo, just in case they show something.

Also, should I delete the .nfo before the transfer in case they are the issue?

season1.nfo season2.nfo season3.nfo season4.nfo season5.nfo season6.nfo season7.nfo season8.nfo

  <seasonnumber>70</seasonnumber>

You should delete or manually update these nfo files, but since they were imported into database you would have to do a Refresh on the Series.  Editing may be picked up and correct the issue.

Personally, would remove the series delete these season nfo files, scan, then readd series.

Okay, let me try something.

Ok, so what I did was move the Show to a different Folder, Scan Library to get it out, deleted all the .bif and .nfo files. Then renamed them all with FileBot, and put them back on the directory it should be, scanned the libraries and it's working fine now!
