Where are .nfo files written since Emby 4.6

Dear community,

While using Emby Server on Debian for quite a time, I have set the library options to save metadata in .nfo files in the same folder together with the media to be played back.

However, now under the Emby Server versions 4.6.X, I realized that the appropriate setting is not available any longer. I can only define to use existing .nfo files when adding new files. At the end, metadata information is added to the Emby database, but not longer written into the media folders.

I tried both to activate the separate nfo metadata plugin and to keep it deactivated. It makes no difference in available settings with regard to the writing of nfo files. So I am stuck with metadata that are only written into the Emby database, while all new added media to not get any longer the corresponding nfo files. What can be done to revert back to the original behavior that somehow got lost in the course of updating Emby server?

Best regards,
Peter

Worth to note, the log file embyserver.txt appears was silent about any errors, e.g. about permission issues, so that I can assume that Emby Server did not even try to write an nfo file.

Would need to go over a specific example and provide the server log for that example.  May need to enable Debug logging for this example.

Easy test

Ensure you have write nfo files enabled

Go to any item that does not nfo in media folder

select edit metadata and hit save

Post that server log but only permissions should prevent saving with media.
