Automatic subtitle download is impossible?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I have just recently switched from Plex to Emby, I really love the way Emby plays my media files, but somehow, I cannot get the automatic subtitle download to work. I have enclosed a log file.
Before posting, I have filled in my Opensubtitle login, checked the boxes in my libraries, but I just doesn't work.

For example, when I try to watch the file Revenge_S02E03_x265_1080p_WEB-DL_30nama_30NAMA.mkv, it displays the embedded subtitles, but when I try to search for Dutch subtitles, i'm prompted to upgrade to Emby Premiere.

Is this the only way to get Dutch subtitles in Emby? When I open this files in Plex, it downloads subs immediately, but going back to Plex would obviously be a downgrade for me :)

Thanks in advance!

as far as I can tell, to download them on a per episode basis, it does give the prompt about emby premier if you do it directly from the item playing (usually by pressing down and then the [cc] )... however if you hit [back] to the episode page itself, you can goto "..." or more and then choose "edit subtitles" from there... it's basically the same thing that the other method does except actually better, because you can erase any incorrect subs you might have for the episode.

Now the automatic download of subtitles is set in the library settings... goto the "Library" tab and select a library, example "TV Shows" and hit the "..." then "edit" and then check off the languages you want... and also the subtitle downloaders you want (Adidic7ed, SubDB and others available as plugins on the plugin section)...
These library settings will run whenever the scheduled task "download subtitles" runs (i think daily is the default).

Hope some of this is helpful and not too confusing. I am not currently sitting at my server settings, so most is from memory..

Ok, so far so good.....the option to download the subtitles individually is working perfect now!

But although the scheduled task did run, the subtitles won't download automaticly, do you have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi @RobertRijnders please see the section titled if subtitles are not automatically downloading:

And let us know if that helps. Thanks.

Hi all,

After unchecking the exact hash tag box, rescanning and running the scheduled plugin, everything seems to work fine, goodbye Plex!!

Massive thanks to you, much appreciated!!!
