KieranMan 1 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) Hi, I've been working with Emby for a over a year but I am new to the DVR feature. I run 4.7.6.0 on Debian and while I can see that the DVR feature is recording programs from my HDHomeRun, nothing appears in the Media-Recordings page on under Live TV recordings. I just says "No Items Found". This is the same for the webapp, ROKU, and Samsung app. The recordings are stored on their own drive mounted as shown below drwxrwxrwx 5 emby emby 4096 Dec 7 10:58 tv_recordings There are recording directories with *.ts under tv_recordings but nothing shows up on the app Any help would be appreciated Kieran Edited December 7, 2021 by KieranMan

I would start by going to the Live TV settings and changing the default recording path to the directory that you want to record to. I also create a new library and point it at the same directory. Creating a new library isn't necessary, but it allows you to display newly recorded shows on the home page. So I think in your case you might want to just check and make sure that the default recording path in Live TV settings is the same as the recordings drive you mentioned in your post.
KieranMan 1 Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 No, this isn't the issue but thanks. Default recording path is.... /tv_recordings This directory is full of the recordings and I can play all of them using VLC. I created a new libary and pointed it at this directory with the same results...nothing. So the recording feature is working fine but none of the apps will show what is in that directory. It has to be some sort of configuration issue but I can't find it. Rebooted Emby server as well, no joy
KieranMan 1 Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 I have a little more information. I have two SSD drives for media, one mounted as /archive and the other mounted as /tv_recordings. See below drwxrwxrwx 5 emby emby 4096 Dec 8 08:54 tv_recordings drwxrwxrwx 1 emby emby 4096 May 14 2021 archive All of my libraries are in folders beneath "archive". All the the HDHomeRun recordings go into "tv_recordings". I created a new library and pointed it at "tv_recordings" and like before, after a scan it is it is empty. I created a symlink to "tv_recordings" and placed it under "archive". I created a new library and pointed it at the symlink and bingo, the recordings appeared. I still have the problem that if you go to Live TV->Recordings the scan comes up empty. There is no filter for favourites either. It seems Emby doesn't like to scan the directory "tv_recordings" directly. Any ideas?
Luke 42078 Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 HI, it's hard to say. First, can you list out all of your emby libraries, as well as the folder paths that are added to each one? Thanks.
KieranMan 1 Posted December 13, 2021 Author Posted December 13, 2021 Sure. 1) Adult Movies (as opposed to kids movies so don't snicker) /archive/Movies/Adult_Movies 2) Home Movies /archive/Movies/Home_Movies 3) Kids Movies /archive/Movies/Kids_Movies 4) Recorded Television (this is the symlinked one that works) /archive/Movies/TV_recordings 5) Recordings (this is the one that is empty put shows up when symlinked to /archive/Movies) /tv_recordings 6) TV Shows /archive/Movies/TV_shows
Luke 42078 Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 @KieranMan And what have you configured for the recording path options in live tv settings?
KieranMan 1 Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 Hi, it was .... /tv_recordings Ok, I have a work-around for the issue. I placed the mount point for the second SSD at... /archive/Movies/tv_recordings instead of at the root /tv_recordings and now it works. It looks like you must have all libraries along with the recording directory share the same root directory. This doesn't make much sense but whatever, it works. 1
Luke 42078 Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 That's interesting, thanks for the feedback. We'll take a look at it.
ttgapers 98 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) I can confirm this issue also. In addition it affects showing "Active Recordings" on the Home Screen. @Luke - I tried to explain this previously, but happy it affects someone else. I never tried the workaround above though, which I might do in the interim to allow them to show up. I'm running 0.19 beta on Windows. Thanks! Edited January 2, 2022 by ttgapers
