Tatankasa 0 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Hey guys, I'm doing a manual migration from my old Windows 8.1 computer to a newer Windows 10 system. I followed the directions, and everything seems to have worked at first, I can log in to my user, all my libraries show up and I can even watch content successfully (presumably because I kept the paths the same eg D:\Videos\TV Shows on both old and new computer). But if I look at the libraries, none of them show any folders added, and if I try to 'add' them through the gui, I get an error (as if there was a permissions problem) then it starts a library scan, and removes all my libraries. I can recreate a library and adding the same locations works fine, so I'm trying that but it's scanning now, going to be a while and I'm not sure it'll preserve my migrated data like watched status etc? I think I'm doing it wrong. How am I supposed to "setup your library paths" when migrating manually? I also saw someone say "you need to check each library and make any adjustments to the mount points setup" but I'm not sure what that means. Any tips would be appriciated, thanks! embyserver.txt
Tatankasa 0 Posted December 6, 2021 Author Posted December 6, 2021 Update, re-creating my libraries manually with the exact same names as before seems to have worked, it looks like it's retained my watched status and so on, just took all night to scan the libraries and presumably re-download all my meta data! I'll search around and see if there's any recommended actions for cleaning up old meta data and such. I also have an issue with the auto-organize plugin, the drop down where you specify what library to put new content in is blank, and no results show up to select, but I will poke it with my IT stick and if I get stuck I'll post a new topic about that.
Luke 42080 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Hi there, thanks for the update. Glad you were able to find a solution.
