Automatic switch to the highest resolution

Whenever I stream an IPTV channel with multiple streams included from an m3u8 file, emby picks always the stream with the lowest quality. U get the highest quality if you play these channels in VLC player.

For example.

I use the IPTV channels from Samsungs IPTV list and Pluto TVs IPTV list.

https://i.mjh.nz/PlutoTV/all.m3u8

https://i.mjh.nz/SamsungTVPlus/all.m3u8

Also the stream begins stuttering if a commercial starts on one of the Pluto channels. What is quite interesting because there is no stuttering or a commercial in the recording if I record the stream.

And yes, the channels has 720/1080p resolution and the Mbits is set to maximum in emby.

Any ideas how to fix that?

It worked well with the latest beta but can you try the streams from the first post? The streams works well on VLC but its stops after a few minutes on emby.

Pluto or Samsung use commercials during their stream and the stream stops at the moment the commercial starts.

We'll try them out. Thanks.

I tried the Stream ROCK ON and there are also ads during the music clips. But the same behavior here..

I tried the samsung one in vlc and it complained about the certificate on the server, made me press a button to accept. Not sure how Emby deals with that.

@BillOatman okay, that's new to me but maybe this is it why emby stops playing. Tell me, has the stream stoped after you accept the certificate?

No I'm guessing the video characteristics change sufficiently enough that our transcoding doesn't cope with it as well as it should.

In VLC no, it keeps on going.  But not sure for how long if I did not press accept.

Luke, I appreciate what you guys do and I pay to fee for Emby Premiere servie to give back but often times I see reported issues recieve the "We'll take a look at it" response and that's where it ends.   Again, I understand this free to the public but there are issue that we'd appreciate updates on.    Or if the issues or request are unable to be addressed or doesn't fit the direction of Emby you would understand if that's the feedback we recieved.

Thanks in advance and Thanks for what you provide.
