Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I am very picky about my artwork. I rarely like the artwork that emby assigns automatically so I spend a lot of time changing it. Many times I download the image I want directly into the folder with the movie and name it "poster.jpg". Sometimes I can find suitable artwork in the "edit images" option if I right click on the artwork. The problem is those chosen by using "edit images" don't necessarily stay that way. I'm not sure what is going on but I just moved several hundred titles into a new folder as I am reorganizing and when I added that folder to my library the only artwork that stayed as I like it are those I manually put an image file into the movie folder itself.....all images changed by "edit images" reverted to their ugly and incorrect artwork....I say incorrect because I like mine to be original movie posters only, not some edited image to remove stuff. Some may like that but I hate it. How can I make these changes stay? I don't have "save artwork into media folders" checked, but then again I don't know exactly how this works. Does it save the artwork into the same folders as the movies or does it create new folders on the drive emby is installed for it's own use only? If I check this box will it resolve my issue? Thanks

Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) Thank you.....if I check that box is it retroactive? If I rescan the files will emby then write the currently chosen artwork into a file? Is the file written named "poster.jpg" like I already do manually? If so I suppose if I choose something from "edit images" it will overwrite any file already named as such? Edited December 2, 2021 by Ronstang

Nope, Refresh is needed. 1 minute ago, Ronstang said: If I rescan the files with emby then write the currently chosen artwork into a file? Hmmm, not sure, I'd say it'd be scraped again. 2 minutes ago, Ronstang said: Is the file written named "poster.jpg" Yep. 2 minutes ago, Ronstang said: If so I suppose if I choose something from "edit images" it will overwrite any file already named as such? Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 OK, that worked like a charm....thanks so much! 1
nospotify 184 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 For music files, I am unclear on what happens with images other than the main image and how we can view them. Many albums have additional art embedded in the actual media file (back cover, etc.) and I would like to be able to see that. And while the Edit Images screen allows us to upload image files for 'Logo, Thumb, Banner, Disc and Art,' after returning to the main album page there is no apparent way to display any of them. How can we see those additional image files, whether embedded or loaded via Emby later?
FrostByte 5392 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 If you have a bunch of your own images add an extrafanart folder to your albums and dump your images there. All the clients I use will rotate the images from that folder into the background

Emby apps currently do not use Disc or Art types.
nospotify 184 Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 (edited) Thanks, but I'm still unclear if (and, if so, how) we can view any of these ID3 standard embedded images other than "$03 – Cover (front)" $04 – Cover (back) $05 – Leaflet page $06 – Media (e.g. label side of CD) Edited December 4, 2021 by wordlover

Thanks. 1
