wagnermoreira1982 3 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I would like to know how to always leave it dubbed first. What are the criteria used, is the date of implantation of the file in the library?
ebr 16187 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Hi. If the track is marked as "default" in the media item and you select the option to "Always play default track regardless of language" in your audio language preferences, then that's what you would get.
Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 You can check your MKV files ( I assume that is what you are using) in MKVtoonix and if the the audio track you want to always play is not marked as default you can then mark it as default so the audio track you prefer always also plays by default. Now, if you have a lot of files this can be rather laborious, and you will have to save the file to a new location and then copy it over your existing file. If you are using a different file format then I am sure there is a similar alternative. I only know about MKV as that is what I use exclusively.

MKVToolnix will read files in other containers such as MP4, but will always write out using MKV. If your original file is MKV, you can use the header editor in MKVToolnix to change the track default settings directly in the file without making a new copy. This is a bit fiddly, though, in comparison with making a new copy. Paul

Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Only one problem Paul, I have a file open in MKVToolnix header editor because the second audio track is misidentified and I want to change that....but I cannot figure out how to edit anything. For me it appears it is acting as an "header viewer only". Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
pwhodges 2012 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Click the chevron next to the track to open the drop-down of fields; highlight the field you want to edit; edit in the right-hand panel. Then from the top menu "Header editor / Save" to write back into the original file. Paul 1
wagnermoreira1982 3 Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) My files are all in mp4 and separated, dubbed and subtitled in the same folder shown in the images. So I asked what would be the way to always leave dubbed as the first option. Edited December 2, 2021 by wagnermoreira1982
rodainas 191 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 There is a misunderstanding, the problem is not dual audio as described on OP, but a multi-version scenario. Each client chooses the most compatible version by default, at the moment there is no option to control this. 1
Ronstang 294 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Thanks Paul, is there any way to batch process if you are doing the same edit to the header of each file....I have several thousand movies with the wrong language for the second track.

pwhodges 2012 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 JMkvpropedit is a Java GUI which can process multiple files, or output a command line for you. Paul
