keithterrill 2 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 So, I backed up my /home, removed the drive and replaced it with a new drive, did a fresh install of Linux Mint 20.2. Created the users and assigned them their original UIDs. Restored the /home. Then installed the latest EMBY which is 4.6.7.0. I started the system, then opened emby (192.168.1.1:8096) and it started up as a new install. I have no idea where the system information is, users accounts, settings etc.... All of the libraries are present. They reside on a separate drive. I still have the original drive, so if the data I need was located in /var or somewhere else, I can get to it. Any help?
Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Hi @keithterrill can you please attach an emby server log? From that we can see what the data paths are, and then you can compare that to before. Thanks.
keithterrill 2 Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Where are the logs on my Linux drive? The browser brings me to the screen asking me to set up my new system.
Solution Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2021 Solution Posted December 1, 2021 10 minutes ago, keithterrill said: The browser brings me to the screen asking me to set up my new system. Assuming you just step through it real quick, you can grab them from the server web interface.
keithterrill 2 Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 (edited) Luke, I marked your suggestion... So, I created the administrator account, then looked at the dashboard, scrolled down to Paths and saw that all four logs are in the /var/lib/emby folder. When I did the fresh install of my Linux OS, I only restored the /home directory. But, since I installed a new drive for the OS, I had the old one handy as a full backup of the original. Mounting that old drive into the system, I was able to locate the /var/lib/emby folder. On the new drive I renamed the emby folder to emby.old and then copied the emby folder from the old drive into the new /var/lib. Not remembering exactly how to restart the service, I just brought the system down, rebooted, and then.... it all (appears) to be fully operational.
